Player of the Week
Alex Burns, Molloy (Sr, OF - Baldwin, N.Y.)
Burns had a phenomenal week at the plate for the Lions, hitting at a .500 clip that included seven hits, six RBI, three home runs, and a double. The graduate student hit a game-winning three-run home run to cap off a seven-run seventh inning comeback for Molloy at STAC. In the second game of the doubleheader, the left fielder was 1-for-4 with a solo home run, accounting for the Lions' run of the contest before the game was paused due to darkness. She capped off the impressive hitting with her third home run in as many games against D'Youville.

Pitcher of the Week
Carissa Della Vecchia, St. Thomas Aquinas (Gr, P - Wappingers Falls, N.Y.)
Della Vecchia earned two complete-game victories last week over D'Youville and Queens and tossed an additional 8.0 innings against Molloy in a game suspended due to darkness. The graduate student lefty allowed 12 hits and two runs over 22.0 innings for a 0.63 ERA, while walking just five and fanning 30.

Rookie of the Week
Cayla Crawford, Mercy (Fr, C - Hemet, Calif.)
Crawford went 5-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, a home run, a double, and a stolen base in Mercy's doubleheader split with Staten Island on Tuesday.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Adriana Coira, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fr, IF - San Juan, Puerto Rico)
Coira batted .400 with eight hits in 20 at-bats. In addition, she scored four runs and drove in another five. In a 7-1 win over Queens, she had two hits, two RBI, and a run scored. Defensively, she sparkled at shortstop. In the second game against Queens, she turned two double plays at the position.

Samantha Franck, Mercy (Sr, 1B - La Habra Heights, Calif.)
Franck went 5-for-5 with three runs, a team-high four RBI, a home run, and a double in Mercy's split with Staten Island on Tuesday.

Ann Grimshaw, Queens (Sr, UTL - New Hyde Park, N.Y.)
Over four games, Grimshaw batted .417 with five hits and one RBI. The senior extended her hitting streak to 16 games and recorded her team-best-tying seventh multi-hit game of the season against STAC in game one on Saturday afternoon.

Brianna Macias, Molloy (So, P - Downey, Calif.)
Macias tossed 15.1 innings on the week, allowing one run and 10 hits while striking out 15 batters. Her ERA for the week was 0.45.

ECC Team Notes

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Mercy: The Mercy College softball team went 1-1 on the week with a split against Staten Island on Tuesday. The Mavericks were led by senior Samantha Franck who had a team-high four RBI. Mercy resumes action on Thursday when they play at Queens at 2 p.m.

Molloy: No team notes submitted.

Queens: The Knights went 0-4 on the week dropping a non-conference DH to Pace on the road before falling short at home against STAC. Queens plays three conference DH on the week as they battle Mercy in back-to-back days on Thursday in Flushing before traveling to Dobbs Ferry. The week concludes in Buffalo as the Knights matchup against D'Youville on Sunday.

Staten Island: The Dolphins played four doubleheaders this week and finished 3-5 across their eight games. Most notably, they split a pair of conference games against Mercy College and picked up a win over Goldey-Beacom behind a complete game effort in the circle from Anissa Acosta.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball team (14-9, 7-2 ECC) went 3-2 last week, splitting D'Youville and losing to Molloy, before sweeping Queens (3-0 & 7-1). STAC returns to action on April 11 vs. Alliance, April 13 at Pace, April 14 at Caldwell, and April 16 at Dominican.
