Offensive Player of the Week
Gabrielle Ciambella, Roberts Wesleyan (So, M - East Amherst, N.Y.)
Ciambella scored both goals in Roberts Wesleyan's 2-0 victory over Bridgeport.

Defensive Player of the Week
Nicolette Knauf, Roberts Wesleyan (So, GK - Schenectady, N.Y.)
In the Redhawks only game last week, Knauf posted a shutout with eight saves in a 2-0 win over Bridgeport.

Rookie of the Week
Madison Rosa, Mercy (So, M - Dublin, Calif.)
Rosa had a career-high five points on a goal and three assists in the Mavericks win over Lincoln on Saturday.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Nikki Bermudez, Mercy (Sr, M/F - Oceanside, N.Y.)
Bermudez scored the Mavericks goal in Mercy's 1-1 tie at No. 7 Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday.

Tatyjana Scalisi, Daemen (Jr, F - Williamsville, N.Y.)
Scored in fifth minute of regulation time unassisted in Daemen's 2-1 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas on Oct. 9... Now tied with teammate Faye Panagopoulos (later scored in 24th minute versus Spartans) for team lead in goals scored (5), also currently stands tied for second among ECC leaders... Has recorded at least one point in four of Daemen's last six contests... Leads team with 14 points, which also places her tied for first among ECC leaders.

Melissa Torres, Mercy (Sr, GK - La Mirada, Calif.)
Torres made four saves and allowed just one goal in the Mavericks 1-1 tie at No. 7 Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday.

Lexi Verni, Molloy (Jr, M - Patchogue, N.Y.)
Verni netted two goals in the Lions' 2-1 victory over Queens Saturday, October 9.

ECC Team Notes

Bridgeport: The UB women's soccer team enters this week's action at 5-6-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the ECC. Last week, the Purple Knights beat Holy Family at home, 2-0, and fell on the road at Roberts Wesleyan by the identical score. This week, Bridgeport travels to Wilmington (Del.) on Tuesday and hosts Daemen on Saturday. Graduate student Andrea Bascilicato leads the Purple Knights in scoring with seven points so far in 2021 on two goals and three assists.

Daemen: Daemen finished 1-1 last week following contests vs. Stonehill (2-1 loss on Oct. 7) and St. Thomas Aquinas (2-1 win on Oct. 9). The loss against Stonehill prevented Wildcats from tying the program record for most consecutive wins (5 in 2019). The Wildcats bounced back two days later when junior Tatyjana Scalisi scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season to open the contest with STAC. Classmate Faye Panagopoulos then extended Daemen's lead to 2-0 in the 24th minute for her fifth goal of the season off an assist from freshman Alyssa Diaz, her third of the season. Daemen is 6-4-0 overall and remains unbeaten in ECC play at 5-0-0. The Wildcats return to action when they host LeMoyne in a non-conference contest on Oct. 13 to conclude a season-high five-game homestand.

D'Youville: D'Youville went 1-0-1 last week with a mid-week win over Houghton and a 1-1 tie vs CSI in league play ... The Saints had five different goal scorers in the 5-1 win over Houghton ...

Lincoln: Lincoln fell to 0-8-0 (0-5-0 ECC) on the season with a loss to Mercy last week. This week, the Lions will travel to Trinity on Wednesday before continuing ECC play with a home contest against Molloy on Saturday.

Mercy: TThe Mercy College women's soccer team went 1-0-1 on the week with a win over Lincoln and a 1-1 tie against No. 7 Southern N.H. The Mavericks were led by sophomore Madison Rosa who had a goal and three assists. Mercy resumes action on Tuesday when they play at Assumption at 3 p.m.

Molloy: No. 24 Molloy went 2-0 last week to improve to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play. The Lions topped Jefferson, 1-0, Wednesday, October 6, and Queens, 2-1, Saturday, October 9. Junior Annie Coogan scored in the 58th minute, on a goal assisted by senior Dana Poetzsch, and senior Jackie Carty made two saves for her eighth shutout of the season. Against the Knights, junior Lexi Verni tallied two goals, and Poetzsch and Coogan recorded assists.

Queens: The Knights play host to Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday (Oct. 16) in ECC action. Kick-off slated for 2 p.m.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Roberts women's soccer team defeated Bridgeport, 2-0 on Saturday. Sophomore Gabby Ciambella scored both goals for the Redhawks. Roberts will travel to Queens next Saturday.

Staten Island: The College of Staten Island Women's Soccer team suffered a tough loss at the hands of Goldey-Beacom last Wednesday. as they were kept entirely off of the scoreboard in a 5-0 defeat. The Dolphins then traveled to D'Youville where they picked up a, 1-1, tie against East Coast Conference (ECC) foe D'Youville College. CSI would move their record to 2-9-1 (1-3-1 ECC). Up Next, They will travel to Wilmington to play the Wildcats on 10/13.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team went 0-1 last week, falling 2-1 at Daemen. STAC (3-6, 2-3 ECC) will travel to Felician on October 13 (1 p.m.), before hosting Staten Island on October 16 (11 a.m.).
