Senior Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) led all scorers with 13 points, six assists (5-7, 3-4 from the arc) and added five rebounds.
Elle Nittinger (Waverly, N.Y.) and Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) scored 11 points each in the victory, while Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) netted 10 points and grabbed a game best seven rebounds.
As a team the Lady Chargers shot 81.8% (9-11) from the charity stripe, 41.7% (25-60) from the floor and 40% (10-25) from the three-point arc for the game.
St. Thomas Aquinas (0-3) led 4-3 with 8:48 left in the first quarter when Dominican used an 18-11 closing quarter run to claim a 21-15 advantage. The Spartans opened the second frame with the first two buckets to cut the deficit to 21-19 but DC counterd with nine straight points to rebuild a 30-19 lead. Naabea-Janaan Assibey-Bonsu (Central Islip, N.Y.) closed out the first half with two free throws to give the Lady Chargers a 34-23 lead at the break.
The Lady Chargers took their biggest lead of the game (69-40) on a trey from Latimer with 3:45 left on the clock, but STAC closed out the game on a 12-0 run for the final 69-52 score.
DC is scheduled to travel to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Concordia College on February 2nd. Game time is set for 5:30 pm.
