MEN'S LACROSSE DROPS NON-CONFERENCE GAME TO MOLLOY COLLEGE
Hillburn, N.Y. (3/27/19) The Dominican College men’s lacrosse team fell to the Lions of Molloy College in a non-conference game by a score of 18-4 at Torne Valley Sports Complex.
Hillburn, N.Y. (3/27/19) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell to the Lions of Molloy College in a non-conference game by a score of 18-4 at Torne Valley Sports Complex. The Chargers fall to 1-5 overall on the season and the Lions improve to 3-5 overall on the season.
In the opening period, the Lions jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. The Lions continued the run in the second quarter and extended out to a 7-0 lead over the Chargers.
The Chargers ended the run with just over seven minutes remaining in the second quarter with a goal by Nick D'Alessandro (Levittown, N.Y.) and put DC on the board. Molloy added one more goal before halftime and held an 8-1 at the break.
The Lions opened the second half with six unanswered goals to extend their lead over the Chargers to 14-1. Ryan Fischer (Monroe, N.Y.) ended the run with a late goal in the third quarter for DC's second goal of the game.
Molloy scored the first three goals in the fourth quarter and added a fourth later in the quarter to build the lead. Ryan Fischer scored twice in the fourth quarter lead DC in the game with a total of three goals scored. The Lions secured the victory to improve to 3-5.
Kevin Pastier led the Lions in goals with seven while Brian Ford and Richie Polizzi Jr. each scored three goals. Michael Scheuerer finished the game with two goals. Andrew Chu, Darryl Hilaire, and Colin Kotarski each added a goal for the Lions.
The Chargers will be back in action on Sunday, March 31st when they host Wheeling Jesuit University at 12:00 PM. The game will be held at Albertus Magnus High School.
