LADY CHARGERS FALL IN NON-CONFERENCE ACTION TO ST. THOMAS AQUINAS COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/16/22) The Dominican University New York women’s basketball team fell in non-conference action to the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College by a score of 78-75.

The Lady Chargers fall to 1-2 overall on the season after the loss.
Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) was the leading scorer for the Lady Chargers by finishing with 17 points and also adding five assists, three rebounds, and three steals. Mills got off to a fast start by scoring eight of the Dominican 16 points in the first quarter.
Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 16 points and pulled down nine boards. Kristen Teklits (New Fairfield, Conn.) and Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) each added 11 points. Teklits also added seven rebounds while Suarez finished with five rebounds and three assists.
Olivia Levy (Stony Point, N.Y.) added a team-high 10 rebounds and scored eight points.
The Lady Chargers finished the game shooting 39.4% from the field and went 12-15 from the free-throw line. Dominican scored 21 points off of STAC turnovers and pulled down 44 rebounds as a team.
Dominican held the lead over STAC for most of the first half and got off to a quick 7-0 start in the first quarter.
Both teams played an even second and third quarter. STAC jumped out to their largest lead of the game over Dominican in the fourth quarter which was seven points.
The Lady Chargers continued to close the gap but the Spartans never lost the lead on their way to a 78-75 victory.
The Spartans were led by Erin Leary who recorded a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Sarah Ericson also added a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Julia Reggio contributed 14 points in the win.
The Lady Chargers will return to action this weekend when they host Franklin Pierce University on day one of the 9th Annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament at 1:00 PM.
