The Chargers earned back to back victories to improve to 17-5 overall on the season.
Wahaad Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the way with a game-high 22 points on 10-13 from the field and also added five rebounds and three assists. Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) finished with 16 points on 7-10 shooting and shared a team-high in rebounds with eight.
Emmanuel Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also added eight boards and scored 12 points off the bench. Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.) added 10 points.
The Chargers led for most of the first half until the Knights finished off strong by outscoring the Chargers 16-9 over the last eight minutes. The Knights jumped out in front with three seconds remaining and took a one-point lead into halftime.
The Chargers opened the second half strong on a 14-4 run and remained in the lead for the rest of the game. After the Knights cut the deficit to five, the Chargers took control of the game by using an 11-2 run and extended to their largest lead which was 14 points and completed the victory.
The Chargers finished the game shooting 53.2% from the field as a team. Dominican capitalized on 16 QC turnovers by adding 20 points off of turnovers. The Chargers outscored the Knights 50-28 in the paint and added 18 fast break points.
The Chargers will return to conference play this Saturday, February 4th when they travel to Georgian Court University with a match up with the Lions. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
