UDC Drops League Match Up Against Daemen

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's men's basketball team saw their two game win streak come to a haul, amidst a 70-80 league loss to Daemen University, Saturday afternoon. The Firebirds  slipped to 4-4 in conference play, sitting in fifth place in standings. The Wildcats improved to 5-3 to claim the third position. 

Michael Aiken posted a team high 17 points, going 5-9 from the field. Jahmir Marable-Williams was the only other scorer in the double-figures for the Firebirds with 16 points, five assists, four rebounds and a steal. Micah Campbell pulled down a team high seven points and a game high two blocks. Torrence Horton came off the bench to add eight points going 3-5 from the field while also adding three assists. 

Daemen shot at 55.6% from the field and UDC shot at 44.1% . The home team was out rebounded (24-37), and the visitors had more points in the paint (48-30). 

Next Up, UDC (6-11, 4-4 ECC) heads to Sparkhill, N.Y on Wednesday, to kick off the second half of conference play against St Thomas Aquinas College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
