Donaldson Nets Five Goals in Firebird Loss to D'Youville

BUFFALO, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia's men's lacrosse team fell to D'Youville University 7-18, Saturday afternoon at Dobson Field. The Firebirds fell to 0-3 in conference play and the Saints improved to 1-3. 

Dylan Donaldson scored a team-high five goals and Julian Schemm and Maxwell Hansberry each contributed a goal. Carnell Lofton Jr. went 13-27 at the Face Off line and picked up a game-high nine ground balls. Najee Wilson made a game-high 16 saves. 

The Firebirds were left scoreless in the first quarter, but they were able to hold the Saints to just three goals (the least amount of goals conceded in the first quarter all season).

UDC opened the second quarter with Donaldson scoring the first two goals, both of which were unassisted. The home team responded with three back to back goals, before Schemm netted his lone goal of the day.

UDC came into the second half down by four and went on to score a total of four goals, two in each quarter. The Saints scored a quarter high seven goals in the fourth to pull away from the Firebirds and secure their first conference win of the season.
