Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team posted its second consecutive shutout victory, sweeping D'Youville University 7-0 in ECC action on Friday afternoon at the Riley Family Tennis Courts.
STAC opened things up with a dominant performance in doubles play. The Spartans won two competitions, as Giovanna Jallas and Ayesha Burnett played at No. 2 and took care of business vs. Paola Ermina and Julia Clapper, 6-0. Ebba Rosberg and Samanta Villegas Robles defeated Yuliia Kashtelian and Khushi Agarwal, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, with the third doubles matchup not taking place.
St. Thomas Aquinas led 1-0 after winning the doubles point and did not let off the gas in singles competition, taking all six singles competitions. Vera Gak Anagrova defeated Julia Clapper, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles, while Samanta Villegas Robles defeated Khushi Agarwal, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2. Ebba Rosberg took care of business at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Yulia Kashtelian. Eliza Mulder defeated Paola Ermina, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3 and Alba Guijo defeated Taylor-Ann Austin, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5. The No. 6 singles match between the teams did not occur.

"We did what we had to do today", said Rockhill. "I am really happy for Vera, Alba and Ayesha. They played very good tennis and maintained their focus throughout their matches. We will likely need to be sharper tomorrow, but I have a feeling we will be ready for the challenge against Daemen."
