Sophomore pinch-hitter Katie Welch (Monroe, Conn./Masuk HS) led off the final inning with a single to right and later scored on a single in the same direction by sophomore designated player Dahlia Fink (Sherman Oaks, Calif./Notre Dame HS).

The Spartans (5-2) took the early lead with two runs in the first and one in the second, and opened it up with a three-run sixth. Against PNW, Bentley took a 3-2 lead with three runs in the bottom of the first. The five-hit inning included a two-run single by Welch and an RBI single by senior third baseman Jess Trahan (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack HS).
