Bridgeport, Conn. - The Molloy athletic department has been named the ECC Cares Award recipients for raising the most money per student-athlete for collective causes during the 2017-2018 academic year.
Daemen athletics raised just over $8,700 for causes this year, which equates to $28.25 per student-athlete. Almost $3,500 of the total was raised for Division II partner, Make-A-Wish. The Lions' student-athletes helped raise over $1,000 for Shootout for Soldiers, and also a fundraiser for Lisa Nappi, a former Molloy student-athlete with a rare brain tumor.
Molloy was recognized at the East Coast Conference Awards Dinner where they received a plaque and a $500 grant for 2018-2019.
