Roberts Wesleyan's Cannon and Martone Named ECC Cross Country Elite 18 Honorees

Old Westbury, N.Y. - Roberts Wesleyan sophomores Nathan Cannon (Rochester, N.Y.) and Moriah Martone (Spencerport, N.Y.) were honored as the recipients of the East Coast Conference Elite 18 Award in the sports of men's and women's cross country at Saturday's ECC Cross Country Championships awards ceremony. With the Cross Country Championship the first conference championship of the 2017-18 academic year, Cannon and Martone are the first-ever recipients of the league's Elite 18 honor.

Cannon, who earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team at Saturday's Championship after a seventh place showing, is an Engineering/Pre-Med major with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Martone also carries a perfect 4.0 GPA as a Nursing major. Like Cannon, she also had an outstanding performance at Saturday's ECC Championship, finishing in 12th place to earn All-Conference Second Team honors.
