Brookville, N.Y. – For the second straight year, Roberts Wesleyan's men's and women's teams were both victorious at the ECC Cross Country Championship, held on the campus of LIU Post on Saturday afternoon.

In the men's race, Roberts Wesleyan had six All-Conference runners, including Thomas Rodger, who crossed the line in first place in a time of 25:03.94 to earn ECC Runner of the Year honors. Matthew Watson (sixth - 25:44.90) and Justin Bender (seventh - 26:17.35) joined Rodger as First Team All-Conference runners for the second straight year. Aaron Bellomo (fourth - 25:40.79) was also a First Team honoree for the Redhawks. Keith Pease (10th - 26:26.81) and Jordan Roselund (11th - 26:26.85) earned Second Team honors for Roberts.

The women's race was tightly contested with the top three teams finishing within three points of each other. With 56 points, Roberts Wesleyan narrowly outpaced Daemen with 58 points and St. Thomas Aquinas with 59 points. Roberts took home the title despite finishing with the same amount of All-Conference honorees as Daemen with three and one fewer the St. Thomas Aquinas. Elizabeth Valento was the Redhawks' top finisher, coming in third place in a time of 18:06.06. April Sablan also earned a spot on the First Team for Roberts with a seventh place finish (18:25.65). The Redhawks other All-Conference honoree was Emily Betts, who earned a spot on the Second Team with a 14th place finish in 19:10.44.

Roberts Wesleyan's Co-Head Coaches Andrew and Jennifer Dorr, were named the Men's and Women's ECC Coaches of the Year after leading the Redhawks to a first place finish in each race. This is the third consecutive year the pair has won the honor for both genders and the fourth straight year in the women's race.

Sarah Jerotich of NYIT earned the ECC Runner of the Year honors as she led all finishers in covering the 5K course in 17:37.54.

Brian Michels of Molloy finished 13th to earn Men's Rookie of the Year honors. He finished with a time of 26:36.35. Makenie Widder of Roberts Wesleyan earned the Rookie of the Year honor in the women's race. She completed the course in a time of 19:42.89 to finish in 17th place.
