Spartans Step Up for Hurricane Irene Victims

Sparkill, N.Y. - The STAC cross country team donated articles of clothing to the victims of Hurricane Irene in Owego, New York. Owego is the hometown of senior, Chelsea Klinger, who started the initiative to make a difference.

Klinger, along with her parents, Walter and Kimberly, arranged for the pick-up and distribution of the clothing. The Spartans collected new and gently used clothes in an array of sizes. In Owego, many people lost all of their possessions and many lost their homes. The town is working to support the victims, but the widespread effects of the hurricane have made it a slow process.
