The STAC Cross Country team volunteered at the 23rd Annual South
Nyack 10-Miler Race hosted by the Rockland Roadrunners. The
Spartans provided support and cold drinks to the race participants
at a water station located on the Piermont pier. All proceeds from
the event were donated to local organizations including the South
Nyack and Piermont Volunteer Fire Departments, the Nyack Ambulance
Corp, and the Nyack Soup Kitchens.
While the cross country team took the day off from running,
assistant coach and former Spartan standout, Andrew Gangemi, ran in
the race. STAC was well represented as he finished in 9th place in
1:02:45. Coach Gangemi used this race as a training run for the
upcoming 2011 NYC Marathon which he will be running with the MEB
Foundation. The MEB (Maintaining Excellent Balance) Foundation
focuses on promoting health, fitness and education. It aligns with
other charitable organizations to provide children opportunity to
play and learn positive life skills through sports and play. If you

for the MEB Foundation, please click on the link below.
