Banton Named Men’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Central Islip, NY - Senior cross country runner Christopher Banton (Christiana, Jamaica) from the New York Institute of Technology has been voted the 2008 East Coast Conference Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Banton helped the Bears secure a second place finish at the 2008 ECC Championships as he placed ninth overall with a time of 28:52.95.  The Second Team All-Conference recipient is majoring in business administration and currently holds a 3.36 grade point average.

East Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete of Year recipients are nominated by their institution and voted on by the Faculty Athletic Representatives from each ECC institution.
