Three from ECC Earn AVCA All-America Honors

Lexington, Ky. - Three East Coast Conference standouts have been named Division II Honorable Mention All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). The honorees are Ashley Drzymala of Daemen and Allison Fowler and Karolina Moderova of NYIT.

Drzymala earns the All-America nod after an outstanding season in which she also earned the ECC Player of the Year honor. She finished the year among the conference leaders in numerous categories, including coming in second with 434 kills and 50 service aces, fourth with 3.44 kills per set, and 10th with 339 digs. Her service ace total also ranked 35th in all of Division II.

Fowler, who won the ECC Setter of the Year for the second year in a row, earns the first All-America selection of her career. She finished second in the ECC with 1110 assists and 9.82 assists per set, while also adding 319 digs and finishing fifth in the conference with 64 block assists and 70 total blocks.

An ECC All-Conference First Team selection, Moderova finished third in the ECC with 406 kills and 3.47 kills per set and ranked in the top-10 in the league with 369 digs. Moderova also topped the conference and ranked 16th nationally with 54 service aces.

The three standouts are the first AVCA All-America honorees in the ECC since the 2013 season when Shelby Cable of NYIT earned a spot on the Honorable Mention team.
