East Coast Conference Co-Rookie of the Year, Bailey Dolegowski of Daemen College, continues to stack up post-season awards after earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) East Region Freshman of the Year honor. Daemen head coach, Stephanie Albano, also earns the AVCA East Region Coach of the Year award. In addition, five other ECC volleyball standouts have earned a spot on the AVCA and Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (DIICCA) All-Region Teams.
Dolegowski, who also was an AVCA Honorable Mention All-Region pick, currently leads the ECC with 1,067 assists on the season and ranks third with 9.70 assists per set. She also ranks fourth in the conference with 42 service aces and has contributed 272 digs on the year.
Albano earns the nod as the region's top coach in her first season on the Daemen sideline. Also the ECC Coach of the Year, Albano led the Wildcats to an ECC Regular Season Championship and their first-ever berth in the NCAA Division II Championship.
Five from the ECC earned AVCA All-Region selections, as well. ECC Player of the Year, Ashley Drzymala, and her sister Amber Drzymala of Daemen, were joined by NYIT's Rachel Guida, Karolina Moderova, and ECC Setter of the Year, Allison Fowler.
Ashley Drzymala, Guida, and Fowler also were selected to the DIICCA All-East Region First Team. As First Team selections, the trio will now be included on the DIICCA All-America ballot.
