Lexington, Ky. - NYIT senior, Shelby Cable, has
been named an American Volleyball Coaches Association Honorable
Mention All-American. This is her third consecutive selection to
the Honorable Mention team.
Cable, a four-time ECC All-Conference First Team selection, wrapped
up her career with an outstanding 2013 season. In 34 matches, the
outside hitter had a .234 hitting percentage, ranked third in the
ECC with 402 kills and fifth with 3.22 kills per set. Cable also
finished in the Top 10 in the conference with 378 digs.
Cable was one of only two East Region student-athletes to make the
squad, joining New Haven's Amber Cannady.
