Five volleyball student-athletes have earned All-America
Honorable Mention recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches
Association and Daktronics.
The AVCA named Maja Potpara and Bethany Shepard of Dowling, Shelby
Cable of NYIT, and Biljana Savic of Bridgeport to their Honorable
Mention list. A four-time ECC Player of the Year, Potpara was
included on the AVCA All-American squads for four consecutive
years. She wraps up her career with her second Honorable Mention
selection after also twice earning Third Team honors and the AVCA
National Freshman of the Year award as well.
Cable, Savic, and Shepard all receive their first All-America
recognition. All three were ECC All-Conference First Team
selections this season, while Savic was also the conference’s
Rookie of the Year.
Potpara and Shepard also earned Honorable Mention All-America
distinction from Daktronics. Joining them on the Daktronics squad
is Jovana Pavlovic from Queens. Pavlovic, a ECC First Team pick,
led the conference in hitting percentage this season at .318.
