Five Earn Daktronics Volleyball All-America Nods

Hillsdale, Mich. - Dowling’s Patrycja Klekotka was selected to the 2010 Daktronics Volleyball All-America First Team while teammates Maja Potpara and Monika Kasperek-Szulc were named to the Second and Third Teams, respectively.  Bridgeport’s Agatha Baliddawa-Mukisa and Terry Masava recieved All-America Honorable Mention nods.

Klekotka wrapped up an award-laden career in 2010 by helping to lead Dowling to one of the best overall records in all of Division II. She led the nation with 1.01 service aces per set, and ranked seventh in the country with a .412 hitting percentage. She was named First-Team All-Conference four times and was the 2010 East Coast Conference Tournament’s most valuable player.

A three-time East Coast Conference Player of the Year, Potpara has led the Golden Lions to their second-straight NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearance. This season she's posted a .368 hitting percentage and 7.35 assists per set, while guiding Dowling to a 31-1 overall record, including the 2010 ECC Championship. Her efforts would also earn her Daktronics East Region Player of the Year honors.

Kasperek-Szulc tops the Golden Lions with a .420 hitting percentage, good for fifth in the nation and averages 2.39 kills per set.  Defensively, she ranks in the top 20 in the nations for blocks per set, averaging 1.16, which includes 14 solo blocks.  Kasperek-Szulc was named to the ECC All-Conference First Team as well as the AVCA All-Region team.

In 2010, Baliddawa-Mukisa and Masava helped the University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team to a spot in the NCAA Division II East Regional Final for the second straight season, as the team compiled a 25-5 overall record.  Masava, averaged 4.11 kills per set this season to rank 15th in the nation while compiling a .287 hitting percentage and pitching in with 2.82 digs per set.  Baliddawa-Mukisa amassed a .419 hitting percentage this season and averaged 3.74 kills per set while leading the team with .82 blocks per set.

Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences selected the three Daktronics All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all first-team all-region picks advancing to the national ballot.
