Central Islip, NY - The East Coast Conference placed seven student-athletes on the 2008 Daktronics East Region Volleyball team released on November 24, including first teamers Enobong Shammah (Queens College) and Patycja Klekotka (Dowling College).
Both Klekotka and Shammah were All-ECC First Team this season. Shammah hit .387 on the season averaging 4.37 kills per game and .68 blocks per game. Klekotka led the Golden Lions offense as she averaged 2.55 kills per game and added 91 total aces on the season.
The Golden Lions claimed four spots on the Second Team with sophomore middle hitter Monika Kasperek, junior outside hitter Marina Markovic, freshman setter Maja Potpara and senior libero Jessica Gall earning recognition.
Sophomore outside hitter Ivan Kovacevic-Jurasin of the University of Bridgeport rounds out the ECC representation on the Second Team.
