Oakdale, NY-Graduate captain Justyna Michon (Katowice, Poland)
has added another accolade to her growing list as she was named to
the 2007 Daktronics All-America Second Team.
Earlier this week she was named AVCA All-America Third Team and was
presented her award at the Elite Eight banquet last night. The
two-time ECC Player of the Year has guided her young team to a
phenomenal 39-7 overall record and a now 37 match winning streak.
Michon is among the nation elite with a .358 hitting percentage,
averaging 4.25 kills per game.
She has led the Golden Lions offense in nearly every match this
season and was named the averaged 5.44 kills per game while hitting
.457 in the ECC Tournament to garner Tournament MVP honors. At the
Northeast Regional, Michon ended all three matches with a kill
including back to back tallies against Bryant in the Finals to seal
Dowling’s spot in their third straight Elite Eight
tournament.
Michon will look to improve her stats today, as the Golden Lions
take on Western Washington in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA
Tournament. The match is set to start at 6:00PM EST.
