Mocodeanu and Romanoff Headline Women's Tennis All-Conference Awards

Central Islip, N.Y. - For the second consecutive year, Laura Mocodeanu from Queens College has earned the title of ECC Player of Year, as selected by the league’s coaches.  Robyn Romanoff from Dowling was tabbed the 2010 ECC Rookie of the Year.

Mocodeanu continues to have an impressive senior campaign.  She boasts an 11-1 record in singles play with her only loss coming in the ITA Regional Finals match.  Mocodeanu holds a 7-0 mark in dual matches at the No. 1 singles spot while compiling a 10-0 record in dual match doubles play. 

Romanoff has compiled a 12-3 record at the top singles spot in her first year as a Golden Lion.  She teamed with both Amber O’Malley and Cristina Hoffmann in doubles to amass a 10-5 at the No. 1 position.

For the second straight year, Alan Nagel has been voted the Coach of the Year by his peers.  Nagel continues to push his team to the next level as they are went undefeated with a 10-0 record in the regular season and secured the ECC Regular Season title.
