Bracket Set for ECC Women's Soccer Championship

Bracket Set for ECC Women's Soccer Championship

West Babylon, N.Y. – With the regular season now complete, the bracket for the East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Championships is set.

Molloy (15-2-0, 8-1-0 ECC) takes the tournament’s top seed after earning a share of the league’s Regular Season Championship for the first time in program history. The Lions, who have also spent nine straight weeks in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 poll, look to repeat as ECC Champions.

No. 4 Roberts Wesleyan (7-7-1, 6-3-0 ECC) will be Molloy’s semifinal opponent. The Redhawks had a remarkable turnaround. After starting the season with an 0-7-1 record, Roberts finished the regular season on a seven-game winning streak to earn their first ECC Championship appearance since the 2016 season. The Redhawks have never won an ECC title but did advance to the final of the tournament in 2015.

Molloy took a 4-0 victory in the regular season meeting between the two schools on September 18.

Mercy is the No. 2 seed and will host the other semifinal after sharing the Regular Season Championship with Molloy. The Mavericks (9-3-4, 8-1-0 ECC) make a conference-best eighth straight ECC Championship appearance. Mercy is in search of the program's third ECC title after previously winning in 2014 and 2017.

Daemen earned the No. 3 seed with a mark of 9-5-1, 7-1-1 ECC. The Wildcats, who are also in search of their first-ever ECC title, are back in the bracket for the second time in three seasons

The Mavericks and Wildcats met on the same field just last weekend (October 30) with Mercy coming away with a 1-0 victory.

The semifinals of the tournament will be hosted by the top two seeds and the final will be hosted by the highest remaining seed. Tournament action begins on Thursday, November 11, and will conclude with the championship match on Sunday, November 14.

Tickets for each game of the championship can be purchased in advance at www.eccsports.org/tickets. Ticket prices will be $8 for general admission and $4 for senior citizens, students, and children ages 2-5. Children under two will be admitted for free.

General admission ticket prices will increase to $10 beginning at midnight the day of the game. In addition, cash will not be accepted so walkup tickets at the venue still must be purchased through the ECC website (QR code will be available at the gate).

For those not in attendance, all three matches of the championship will be broadcast on the ECC Network. Viewers can tune in at www.eccsportsnetwork.com or by downloading the ECC Network app. To download the app, search "ECC Network" on Apple or Android mobile devices or on Amazon Fire, Android TV, Apple TV, and Roku streaming devices.
