Doyle Earns East Region Player of the Year Honor; 16 Named to All-Region Teams

Maegen Doyle of the University of Bridgeport has been named the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) East Region Player of the Year. In addition, 16 other East Coast Conference women's soccer standouts have been named All-Region honorees by the D2CCA and the United Soccer Coaches (USC).

Doyle earns the East Region Player of the Year honor after leading the Purple Knights to an East Region Championship and a spot in the Division II Final Four. Doyle has scored an ECC-high 27 goals and added three assists for 57 points on the season.  Doyle's goal total is second nationally and she also ranks third with 1.29 points per game.

Six other ECC student-athletes join Doyle as consensus All-Region picks. ECC Goalkeeper of the Year, Hillevi Eklow of LIU Post, and ECC Defensive Player of the Year, Rebecca Conway of Mercy, were also First Team honorees by both publications.

Bridgeport's Karoline Vieira (D2CCA First, USC Second), LIU Post's Samantha Gordon (D2CCA Second, USC First), Daemen's Jamie Boyar (D2CCA Second, USC Second), and NYIT's Jess Hawley (D2CCA Second, USC Third) were the other consensus selections.

Celia Pablo de Esteban of Daemen and Alice Schonfeldt of LIU Post round out the ECC representation on the D2CCA list as Second Team picks.

Bridgeport's Erin Eklund (First Team), Jennifer Wendelius (Second Team), and Nara DaCosta (Third Team), Mercy's Natalia Elizarraras (Second Team) and Haley Noble (Second Team), and LIU Post's Gabrielle Clark (First Team) and Julia Duffy (Second Team) were all USC honorees.
