East Coast Conference women's soccer champion, University of Bridgeport, kicks off this at 12:00 p.m. this afternoon in their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Final Four, held in Pensacola, Fla.
With a record of 21-1-1 on the season, the Purple Knights advanced to the Final Four with NCAA Tournament victories over LIU Post, Adelphi, and East Stroudsburg.
The Final Four appearance for Bridgeport is the second by a women's soccer team in ECC history. Former conference member, Adelphi, pulled off the feat in the 2004 season in which they were National Runner-Up.
Bridgeport's opponent in the semifinal will be Columbus St. from Georgia. The Lady Cougars are 21-2-1 on the season and are unbeaten over their past 20 games (18 straight wins).
