Three Soccer Standouts from ECC Named Academic All-Americans

Austin, Texas - Three soccer student-athletes from the East Coast Conference have been honored as CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.

LIU Post's Per Forgaard, the ECC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year, is the lone selection on the men's side with a spot on the First Team. Forgaard helped the Pioneers to their second straight NCAA East Region title and third ECC Championship in four seasons. The senior midfielder and Business Administration major with a 3.67 grade point average, finished the 2015 campaign with 13 goals, 13 assists, and 39 points. All three categories led the ECC.

Two women's soccer standouts were also honored for their mix of academic and athletic success. ECC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year, Bella Mitrevski of Roberts Wesleyan was a Second Team honoree. Mitrevski, who currently holds a 3.91 gpa as a Pre-Law student, led the Redhawks to their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth with 18 goals, nine assists, and 45 points on the season.

Four-time First Team All-Conference recipient, Susanne Vistnes of LIU Post, was a Third Team selection. An offensive force like Mitrevski, Vistnes tallied 19 goals, eight assists, and 46 points in a season that culminated in the Second Round of the NCAA Championship. A senior, Vistnes currently boasts a 3.57 gpa as a Business major.
