Kansas City, Kan. - For the second consecutive
season, Susanne Vistnes of LIU Post has been named a Third Team
All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of
America.
A sophomore forward, Vistnes took home the ECC Offensive Player of
the Year award for the second straight season. In 18 games, she led
the conference with 14 goals, seven game-winning goals, and 34
points. She also dished off six assists to rank fifth in the
ECC.
Vistnes' totals also ranked among the leaders in Division II. Her
points per game (1.89), goals per game (.778), and point totals all
ranked in the top-20 in the nation.
Vistnes was also selected to the NSCAA All-East Region First Team.
Joining her on the First Team were ECC Defensive Player and Rookie
of the Year, Tabea Rauschenberger, and ECC Goalkeeper of the Year,
Julia Hansson, both from the University of Bridgeport. Flo Gamby
and Danielle Puddefoot, also of Bridgeport, were First Team
All-Region selections as well.
ECC standouts on the Second Team All-Region squad are Ashleigh Berg
of Bridgeport, Jeanine Ambrogi of LIU Post, and Jessica Carillo of
Mercy.
Rounding out the ECC representation on the All-Region teams are
Third Team selections Dominique DeFelice of Dowling, Karina Rizzo
of LIU Post, and Rebecca Laporte of Queens.
