Kansas City, Kan. – Dowling College
women’s soccer team has moved up one spot to No. 20 in the
latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II
Top 25 poll.
Dowling kept its unbeaten streak to start the season alive with a
1-0-1 mark last week. The Golden Lions tied New Haven, 1-1, and
followed with a 4-0 victory over NYIT in their ECC opener. Their
record on the week was good enough for a one spot leap in the
rankings, up from No. 21 the previous week.
Dowling also remains the highest ranked ECC squad in the NSCAA East
Region rankings, maintaining their No. 3 spot behind Saint Rose and
American International who are tied for first.
LIU Post is the next ECC squad in the East Region ranking, coming
in at No. 5. The Pioneers are followed by Bridgeport, who moves up
to No. 7, and Mercy, who is listed in the poll for the first time
at No. 10. Queens College falls out of the rankings after coming in
at No. 10 a week ago.
