Daktronics Names Eight ECC Women’s Soccer Players to All-Region Teams

Bridgeport, Conn. – Eight East Coast Conference women's soccer student-athletes have been named to the 2012 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-East Region Teams. Two players earned a spot on the First Team, while six were honored with a Second Team selection.

Susanne Vistnes and Karina Rizzo of LIU Post were the lone ECC representatives on the First Team. Vistnes, the ECC Offensive Players of the Year and Rookie of the Year, put together an outstanding first season as a Pioneer. She led the ECC with 19 goals and finished second with nine assists to put together a conference leading 47 points. Rizzo, the ECC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, was an anchor in the back line for a Pioneers squad that allowed only 0.93 goals against per game.

Three other Pioneers earned Second Team honors, as LIU Post tied St. Rose for the most selections with five. LIU Post's Second Teamers include junior forward Alexa Niciforo, senior midfielder Prudence Rydstrom, and senior goalkeeper Nicole Fierro.

Other Second Team selections include Alexis Parrotta (Sr., M, Dowling), Dominique DeFelice (Sr., B, Dowling), and Alyssa Faller (Sr., B, Molloy).

First Team selections will now move on to the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-America ballot.
