Oakdale, N.Y. - On the eve of their opening
game of the 2012 season, the Dowling Collge women's soccer team
took part in the continuing efforts of the "Keep Islip Clean"
initiative.
Following a preseason of grueling two-a-days and just 24 hours
before they set out to defend their ECC Championship title, Kerri
McCabe and her squad set out to give back to the community.
Captains Dominique DeFelice, Rachel Nelson, and Kayla Vitale led
their team of 25 picking up garbage and debris from various areas
of the community.
The next day, the Golden Lions started the season with a 1-0 win
over St. Michael's College and on Sunday posted a 1-0 victory over
Merrimack College.
