Highland Heights, Ky. – After an unbeaten season that saw them hold the No. 1 spot in the national rankings for most of the way, the University of Bridgeport women’s soccer team had four student-athletes honored by being named to the Daktronics All-American teams.

Leading the way are First Team selections Julia Hansson and Marie Pettersson. Hansson, the ECC Goalkeeper of the Year, allowed only five goals on the season for a Division II leading .271 goals against average. She also led the nation in save percentage at .955 percent.

Pettersson, the ECC Defensive Player of the Year, was a stalwart all season on the Purple Knights’ back line, playing a huge role in Bridgeport leading the country in team goals-against average. She also contributed to an amazing season with one goal and one assist.

Joining Hansson and Pettersson as All-Americans are Katie Stanley and Kasey Kenny on the Third Team. Stanley, a midfielder, scored seven goals and dished off six assists on the season, finishing as the Purple Knights’ third leading scorer. Kenny was an offensive force, earning her the ECC Offensive Player of the Year award. In 18 games, she scored 10 goals and passed off six assists to lead Bridgeport with 26 points.
