Kansas City, KS - Women’s soccer players,
Danielle DeLuca of C.W. Post and Linda Velaj of Bridgeport, have
been named to the 2010 National Soccer College Coaches
Association/Performance Subaru Division II All-America team. Both
were named to the Second Team.
DeLuca, a four year ECC All-Conference First Team member, helped
the Pioneers to the ECC regular and post-season titles as well as
the third round of the NCAA Tournament. In her final season at C.W.
Post, DeLuca scored two goals and dished off eight assists from the
midfield position.
Velaj scored 20 goals and had seven assists for a total of 47
points in 2010 as she helped the Purple Knights to the Second Round
of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship Tournament. A
four-time First Team All-East Coast Conference selection, Linda
helped her team a berth in the NCAA Division II Championship
Tournament during each of her four seasons in a Bridgeport uniform.
She also finished her career with 62 total goals which ranks her
second on the school's all-time goal scoring list.
