Indianapolis - The C.W. Post and Bridgeport women’s soccer teams will represent the East Coast Conference in the upcoming NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship. C.W. Post earned the conference’s automatic berth after capturing the ECC title on Sunday, while Bridgeport makes the field of 48 with an at-large bid.
The Pioneers earned the second seed in the East Region with a record of 13-1-4 and will host half of the East Region bracket. As the number two seed, C.W. Post receives a first round bye, and will take on the winner of number three seed American International College and Georgian Court University.
The other half of the East Region bracket includes the Bridgeport Purple Knights. A 13-3-2 record was good enough for the Purple Knights to earn the last at-large berth in the region as the number five seed. Bridgeport will take on fourth seeded Franklin Pierce University on Friday in Albany, N.Y., with the winner advancing to play The College of St. Rose who are currently ranked number one in the NSCAA national rankings.
