Bridgeport, Conn. - Seven East Coast Conference women's soccer players have been selected to the Daktronics All-East Region First and Second Teams, released on November, 17.
ECC Players of the Year, Vanessa Moreira (Sr., F, Dowling) and Caitlyn Mullady (Sr., D, C.W. Post) are joined by ECC First-Teamer Emma Woolley (Sr., M, Bridgeport) on the Daktronics All-East Region First Team.
Ivana Babic (Jr., F, C.W. Post), Linda Velaj (Jr., F, Bridgeport), Kate Collins (Grad., M, Dowling) and Danielle Weir (So., D, Bridgeport) were selected to the Second Team.
Franklin Pierce University midfielder Gabriela Demoner (Senior, Vitoria, Brazil) was named the 2009 Daktronics, Inc. East Region Women's Soccer Player of the Year.
A total of 13 institutions are represented on the 2009 Daktronics, Inc. East Region Women's Soccer First or Second Teams. The College of St. Rose tops the list with four selections, followed by Franklin Pierce, Holy Family University and the University of Bridgeport with three each.
All First-Team selections will advance to the All-America ballots. The All-America teams are scheduled for release on December 1.
