UB’s Woolley Named to the NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-America Team

Central Islip, N.Y. - University of Bridgeport senior midfielder Emma Woolley has been named to the NSCAA/adidas Women's Soccer Scholar All-America Third Team.

A midfielder, Woolley completed her stellar career at UB as the school's all-time leader in career assists with 36. This season, she scored five goals and added five assists to help the Purple Knights post a 16-2-3 record and advance to the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament for the third consecutive season. Bridgeport also won the East Coast Conference regular season and championship tournament titles in 2009.

For her career, Woolley scored 14 goals and had 36 assists for a total of 64 points (sixth on the Bridgeport all-time list).

Woolley has also was also named to the Daktronics All-America Third Team, NSCAA All-East Region First Team and the ECC All-Conference First Team.

To be nominated for consideration, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout their career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution and either be in their second year at the current school if a transfer student.

The NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-America selections will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in Philadelphia, Pa., on Jan. 16 as part of the 2010 NSCAA Convention.
