Gotterbarn and Brookover Headline ECC Women's Bowling All-Conference Awards

West Babylon, N.Y. - For the second consecutive season the women's bowling coaches of the East Coast Conference have selected Adelphi University senior, Rebecca Gotterbarn (Garden City, N.Y.), as the league's Bowler of the Year. Lincoln Memorial University's, Justine Brookover (Parkersburg, W. Va.), was also selected as the conference's Rookie of the Year.

Gotterbarn earns her third straight All-Conference First Team selection and second straight ECC Bowler of the Year honor after another outstanding season in 2017-18. Gotterbarn was named to the All-Tournament Team at four different events and won the MVP award in both Baker and individual scoring formats at the Bud Whitman Memorial. Her name is also littered throughout the ECC statistics leaderboard. She led the conference in numerous categories including overall frame average (20.44), frame fill percentage (83.5), strike percentage (54.4), first ball 9+ percentage (72.9), first ball average (9.04), and Baker double percentage (51.7). In addition, Gotterbarn's numbers are some of the best among all NCAA bowlers. Through February 26 (last available national data), she had the sixth highest traditional average in the nation at 210.63 and ranked 29th in the National Tenpin Coaches Association's (NTCA) Player Composite Performance Index.

A four-time ECC weekly honoree during the season, Brookover had the second highest overall frame average of any ECC student-athlete at 19.38. She also ranked among the ECC leaders in individual statistics with an 83.2 frame fill percentage (2nd), a 43.9 strike percentage (3rd), a 68.8 first ball +9 percentage (4th), and a 70.1 spare conversion percentage (2nd). She led the conference with the lowest split leave percentage at 6.9 percent, as well.

Dennis Kearney of Adelphi has been selected as the Coach of the Year by his peers for the second consecutive season. The Panthers head into the ECC Championship with an overall record of 70-32 and a No. 11 national ranking in the NTCA NCAA Top 25 poll.

The ECC also announces its Women's Bowling All-Conference teams. Gotterbarn and Brookover are joined on the First Team by Christin Hansen (Fr., Lincoln Memorial), Krysta Peirce (So., Franklin Pierce), and Lena Sorrentino (Gr., Adelphi). Second Team honorees include Jessica Davies (Sr., Franklin Pierce), Jennifer Fitts (Jr., Kutztown), Angela Kozma (So., Kutztown), Katelyn LaRocca (Sr., Adelphi), and Skylar McGarrity (Fr., Adelphi).
