Jenna Erickson, the East Coast Conference Player of the Year from St. Thomas Aquinas, headlines three student-athletes from the conference to be named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-East Region Team. Erickson was named to the First Team, while LIU Post's Sasha Patterson and Daemen's Sarah Saba earned Second Team nods.
Erickson led the Lady Spartans to their first-ever ECC Championship and NCAA Tournament win during the 2017-18 with a 16.9 points per game average. She led the conference with 92 three pointers made and a 44.2 three point shooting percentage. Erickson also ranked among the league leaders with a 47.0 field goal percentage, an 83.2 free throw percentage, 4.8 assists per game and 1.8 steals per game. Her outstanding final season earned her a spot among the conference's all-time leaders in point scored (8th - 1,826) and three point field goals made (2nd - 331).
Patterson earns a spot on the Second Team after helping the Pioneers to an ECC Regular Season title and an NCAA Championship appearance by averaging a double-double of 16.1 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. Her scoring total was third in the ECC while her rebounding numbers led the league. Patterson led the league and ranked 16th nationally with a 59.2 field goal percentage.
Saba finished as the leading scorer in the ECC this season by pouring in 17.8 points per game. She led the league with 191 field goals made and also ranked in the top-10 in the league with 7.0 rebounds per game, 101 free throws made, 52 steals, and 38 blocks. In addition, Saba joins Erickson in moving into the conference's career top-10 in points scored, wrapping up her four seasons at No. 9 with 1,774 points.
