The defending ECC Women's Basketball Champion, Queens College Knights, will open the season ranked as the No. 17 team in the WBCA/USA Today Division II Top 25 poll. This marks the first national ranking in the program's history.
Queens' roster from last season's ECC Championship squad is nearly intact with nine returners, leading to many preseason accolades for the Knights. The Knights, who also topped the recent ECC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, finished last season with a 22-8 record and bowed out of the NCAA Championship in the First Round.
ECC Preseason Player of the Year, Madison Rowland, who is coming off one of the best seasons in conference history after stuffing the stat sheet with 20.9 points per game, 9.9 rebounds per game, 4.1 assists per game, and a Division II leading 4.3 steals per game a season ago, is one of three All-Conference selections back for Queens.
Queens tips off their 2015-16 campaign on November 14th when they travel to take on Philadelphia University.
