NYIT's Ragab Earns Spot on CoSIDA Academic All-America Team

Austin, Texas - Senior captain Dina Ragab of the NYIT women's basketball team has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Third Team for her performance this season on the court and in the classroom. This is her first time receiving this level of honor.

Ragab helped her team finish as the East Coast Conference regular season champions with the No. 1 seed heading into this weekend's conference tournament. This season Ragab broke the all-time block record and became member of 1,000 point club. Currently she ranks 26th in all of NCAA Division II in field goals made (193.0) and sits 48th in double-doubles (10.0). She sits first on the team with 16.6 points per game and second in rebounds per contest (8.1).

Eight of the 15 members of the 2015-16 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Women's Basketball teams have at least a 3.90 G.P.A., with four student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 G.P.A. The five members of the first team have an average G.P.A. of 3.94.

Accompanying Ragab on the CoSIDA Academic All-America® third team is Briana Bradford of University of New Haven, Lubbock Christian University's Nicole Hampton, Ohio Dominican University's Melissa Scherpenberg and Farrah Shokoor of the University of California, San Diego.
