Indianapolis - Despite a 1-1 record last week,
the St. Thomas Aquinas Lady Spartans remain the lone ECC team on
the NCAA women's basketball East Regional rankings. In the poll
released on February 2, the Lady Spartans were listed in the No. 10
spot on the poll.
St. Thomas Aquinas, who have been holding the top spot in the ECC
standings most of the season, currently hold a record of 15-5 (11-2
ECC). Northeast-10 Conference schools hold the top eight spots on
the poll, while the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference equals
the ECC with one school.
The regional rankings will be released weekly on Wednesdays through
March 2, 2011. The top eight teams in the final regional poll will
earn berths to the Division II Women's Basketball Tournament.
