Fitchburg, MA-Holy Family University used a
15-2 run over the final 7:27 of the game to overcome seven-point
deficit, 41-34, as the second-seeded Tigers (29-2) would go on to
post a 49-43 win over the seventh-seed University of Bridgeport
Purple Knights in the first quarterfinal round game at the 2010
NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship East

Holy Family senior forward Christine McCollum (Abington, PA), who led the Tigers with a double-double with 14 points and a game0high 12 rebounds, drained a three-point shot with 1:56 to play to give her team a 46-43 lead, which they never relinquished. McCollum was joined in double-figure scoring by Catherine BCarr (JR, Bedminster, NJ), who netted 12 points.
Bridgeport was led by junior Ana-Maria Kammer (Frankfurt, Germany) who scored 14 points. UB junior Kelly Keil (Sparta, NJ) scored nine points and led Bridgeport in rebounding with seven boards.
Bridgeport closes out the 2009-2010 women’s basketball season with a 20-10 overall record.
