WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. --- Jennifer DiChiara and Amanda Bartlett of Queens College were named All-Met Division II women's college basketball co-players of the year Thursday by the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Assn.
Tom Flahive of Queens was selected coach of the year.
Joining DiChiara and Bartlett on the All-Met first team: Kymira Woodberry, Molloy, last season's player of the year; Mackenzie Lynch, Caldwell; Althea Chambers, Dominican; Molly Tubridy, Dowling; Christie Marrone, Dowling; Brittany Shields, Pace.
The All-Met second team comprised: Serita Lee, Adelphi; Adele Laskowski, Dominican; Whitney Murrer, C.W. Post; Christina Baxter, Mercy; Jasmine Minter, Nyack.
A graduate forward from Smithtown, N.Y., DiChiara led the Lady Knights, the East Coast Conference and was third in the nation with 12.4 ppg. The ECC player of the year, she also posted 16.4 ppg, 79 blocks and shot 46.1 percent from the floor.
A sophomore guard from Mesa, Ariz., Bartlett led Queens with 18.1 ppg while also posting 3.0 rpg, 3.6 assists and shooting 85.5 percent from the free throw line.
In his fifth season at the helm, Flahive guided the Lady Knights to a 24-7 record, the ECC championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament.
The All-Met awards will be presented Wednesday evening, April 15, at the Giants Stadium Club in East Rutherford, N.J.
