LIU Post's Julia Seader has been named the Diamond Sports/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Catcher of the Year. In addition, Seader earned consensus All-America First Team status with selections to the NFCA and Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) lists.
Seader, the ECC Player of the Year, helped lead the Pioneers to an East Region title by hitting .453 with 21 homeruns and 63 RBI on the season. She leads all of Division II in homeruns and total bases (173), while ranking in the top-10 in four other offensive categories (home runs per game, slugging percentage, RBI, and hits).
Two other ECC standouts, Hannah Olshevski of LIU Post and Hannah Mueller of Mercy, also earned recognition on the D2CCA All-America Honorable Mention list.
Olshevski was the ECC Pitcher of the Year who currently holds a 25-6 record with a 1.94 ERA in 198.0 innings. Mueller led the ECC with a .456 batting average on the season.
