Fortin Named Consensus All-American

LIU Post sophomore outfielder, Abbey Fortin, has been named a consensus All-American after earning a spot on both the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) and National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America squads. Fortin was a Third Team selection on both publication's list.

Fortin earned ECC Player of the Year honors after leading the ECC with 81 hits, 56 runs, six triples, 19 homeruns, 65 RBI, 161 total bases, and an .821 slugging percentage, while also coming in at No. 2 in the league with a .413 batting average. Her numbers also put her among the national leaders as she ranked in the top-10 in all of Division II in hits, homeruns per game, total bases, homeruns, and RBI.

She also helped lead the Pioneers to ECC regular season and tournament championships and a spot in the NCAA East Super Regional. Fortin was outstanding in LIU Post's postseason run,  hitting .444 (12-for-27) with seven homeruns and 13 RBI, while also earning the Most Outstanding Player honor in the ECC Championship.
