LIU Post and Molloy Headed to NCAA Softball Championship

Indianapolis - East Coast Conference members LIU Post and Molloy College will compete for a National Championship after earning a spot in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship field released on Monday morning. The two schools will open up the tournament against each other in a rematch of the final of the ECC Softball Championship.

Molloy earned the conference's automatic bid after earning their fourth ECC title in the past six years on Saturday afternoon. The Lions earned the No. 7 seed in the East Region with an overall record of 33-22 on the season.

LIU Post earned an at-large bid to extend their NCAA Tournament streak to 15 straight seasons and 16 of the past 17. The Pioneers with a 36-13-1 mark on the year, earned the No. 2 seed in the East Region to set up another matchup with Molloy.
