Johnston, Hannan Earn Daktronics All-America Honors

Central Islip, N.Y. - Senior outfielder Samantha Johnston of Adelphi University has been named to the 2009 Daktronics All-America Second Team, released on May 21.  Jackie Hannan, a senior first baseman from Dowling College has been received Honorable Mention honors.

Named the 2009 East Coast Conference Player of the Year, Johnston was a dominate force in the Panthers' line-up this season.  She compiled a .443 batting average with 70 hits, 38 runs and 30 RBIs while tallying 16 stolen bases on the season.

Hannan has led the Golden Lions offensively in her senior campaign ranking 1st in total bases (115), homeruns (18), slugging percentage (.714), walks (30), on-base percentage (.432) and RBIs (47).  She was tied for 2nd on the team with a .329 batting average and 3rd on the team with 8 doubles.
