Brookhaven, N.Y. - On Tuesday, March 24, Jackie Hannan broke the Dowling College softball single season record for homeruns in a double header against New Haven.  

She nailed her record breaking homer during the sixth inning of the first game.  The New Haven Chargers had increased their lead to three in the top half of the inning and Hannan came to the plate with two outs.  She drilled the solo tally over the right center field fence to score the only run of the game.  

Hannan held the record that she set last year with 8.  In the 2007 she smacked 6 homeruns tying Taras Wallace on the season and breaking the then standing single season homerun record which was 5 homeruns set by Wallace in 2006.  

Hannan also holds the Dowling Career record for homeruns with 25 and counting.
