Queens and NYIT to Compete in NCAA Men's Tennis Championship

Indianapolis - The East Coast Conference will be represented by the Queens College and NYIT men's tennis teams in the NCAA Championship, as both were in the bracket revealed by the NCAA on Tuesday evening.

Queens (19-5) earned their 17th straight NCAA Championship appearance via the conference's automatic bid after winning their second straight ECC Championship this past weekend. As the No. 2 seed, the Knights earn a First Round bye and hosting duties for the East Region #2 bracket.

NYIT (11-2) makes it seven straight NCAA appearances with an at-large selection after earning the ECC Regular Season Championship. The Bears earned the No. 3 seed and a First Round matchup against Le Moyne (13-5). The Dolphins handed the Bears one of their two losses on the season by a margin of 5-4 on April 8.

The winner of the First Round matchup between NYIT and Le Moyne will advance to take on Queens. An NYIT win in the First Round would set up a rubber match against the Knights as NYIT and Queens split their two matchups so far this season. Le Moyne and Queens have not played each other since the spring of 2013.  The winner of the Second Round match will advance to the Round of 16 in Surprise, Arizona.
